Chocolate Cake

1. Pour boiling water onto TRUMPS COCOA POWDER & allow to cool down.
2. Mix the flour, castor sugar & baking powder together and add to the cocoa powder mixture.
3. Add the vanilla essence, unbeaten egg yolk and cooking oil to the mixture and MIX WELL!
4. Fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites and place in 2 x 23cm sandwich pans.
5. Bake in the oven at 180°C for approximately 25 minutes.
6. Remove from the oven and allow to cool down.
7. Ice with your favourite icing and decorate with TRUMPS CHERRIES, TRUMPS VERMICELLI and/or TRUMPS 100’S & 1000’S.

Trumps Date and Coconut Squares

1. Melt dates, sugar and margarine in a pot on very low heat.
2. Add beaten egg when dates start breaking up (before boiling point is reached) and remove pot from heat.
3. Add broken biscuits and nuts.
4. Press it onto a 22cm x 32cm baking sheet.
5. Sprinkle half of the TRUMPS DESICCATED COCONUT on top.
6. Cut into pieces while still soft. Refrigerate to set properly.

Sweet and Sticky Bacon Cherry Braai Kebabs

1. Mix the water with the contents of the Sweet and Sour Sauce sachet to form a smooth sauce.
2. Thread a cherry onto one of the skewers, then thread on a bacon rasher.
3. Add another cherry and a second rasher of bacon, and finish with a third cherry. Repeat with the remaining skewers.
4. Brush the kebabs with KNORR Sweet and Sour Sauce.
5. Place a piece of foil over the grid of the braai and lay kebabs down on foil.
6. Braai for 7-10 minutes, turning regularly until bacon is cooked and cherries start to caramelise.
7. Serve with potato wedges and salads or as a pre-dinner braai snack.


1. Mix castor sugar and eggs in a mixer until light and fluffy.
2. Add oil and vanilla essence and mix well.
3. Add the sifted flour and baking powder to the mixture alternatively with the milk.
4. Pre-heat the oven to 180°C and grease an oven tray.
5. Pour the mixture into the greased oven tray and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
6. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
